This course provides an overview of Google Cloud's four step structured Cloud Migration Path Methodology. Participants will learn how to assess, plan, migrate, and modernize Virtual Machines (VMs) using Google Cloud's current solution set. Through hands-on practice, participants will gain experience with CloudPhysics and StratoZone for assessment and reporting, Terraform for building a landing zone, and Migrate for Anthos and manual transformation for migrating and modernizing VMs. At the end of the course, participants will be able to migrate a VM between cloud environments.

[Applications]
The application of this course can be seen in the successful migration of virtual machines from one environment to another. After completing this course, users will be able to use Google Cloud's four step structured Cloud Migration Path Methodology to assess, plan, migrate, and modernize their virtual machines. Additionally, users will be able to use Terraform's infrastructure-as-code templates to build a landing zone within Google Cloud, manually transform a two-tier application into a cloud-native workload running on Kubernetes, and transform a VM workload into Kubernetes with Migrate for Anthos. Finally, users will be able to migrate a VM between cloud environments.

[Career Paths]
1. Cloud Migration Engineer: Cloud Migration Engineers are responsible for planning, executing, and managing the migration of applications and data from on-premises or other cloud environments to Google Cloud. They must have a deep understanding of cloud migration best practices, cloud security, and cloud architecture. As cloud technology continues to evolve, Cloud Migration Engineers must stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies to ensure successful migrations.

2. Cloud Architect: Cloud Architects are responsible for designing and implementing cloud-based solutions that meet the needs of their organization. They must have a deep understanding of cloud architecture, cloud security, and cloud best practices. As cloud technology continues to evolve, Cloud Architects must stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies to ensure successful implementations.

3. Cloud Security Engineer: Cloud Security Engineers are responsible for designing, implementing, and managing security solutions for cloud-based applications and data. They must have a deep understanding of cloud security, cloud architecture, and cloud best practices. As cloud technology continues to evolve, Cloud Security Engineers must stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies to ensure secure implementations.

4. DevOps Engineer: DevOps Engineers are responsible for automating the development, deployment, and management of cloud-based applications and data. They must have a deep understanding of cloud architecture, cloud security, and cloud best practices. As cloud technology continues to evolve, DevOps Engineers must stay up to date on the latest trends and technologies to ensure successful implementations.

[Education Paths]
1. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science: A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science provides students with the foundational knowledge and skills needed to understand and work with computer systems. This degree program typically covers topics such as programming, software engineering, computer networks, operating systems, and database management. With the increasing demand for cloud computing and virtualization, a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science is becoming increasingly important for those looking to pursue a career in this field.

2. Master's Degree in Cloud Computing: A Master's Degree in Cloud Computing provides students with the advanced knowledge and skills needed to design, develop, and manage cloud-based systems. This degree program typically covers topics such as cloud architecture, cloud security, cloud storage, cloud computing services, and cloud computing applications. With the increasing demand for cloud computing, a Master's Degree in Cloud Computing is becoming increasingly important for those looking to pursue a career in this field.

3. Master's Degree in Virtualization: A Master's Degree in Virtualization provides students with the advanced knowledge and skills needed to design, develop, and manage virtualized systems. This degree program typically covers topics such as virtualization architecture, virtualization security, virtualization storage, virtualization services, and virtualization applications. With the increasing demand for virtualization, a Master's Degree in Virtualization is becoming increasingly important for those looking to pursue a career in this field.

4. Doctorate Degree in Cloud Computing and Virtualization: A Doctorate Degree in Cloud Computing and Virtualization provides students with the highest level of knowledge and skills needed to design, develop, and manage cloud-based and virtualized systems. This degree program typically covers topics such as cloud and virtualization architecture, cloud and virtualization security, cloud and virtualization storage, cloud and virtualization services, and cloud and virtualization applications. With the increasing demand for cloud computing and virtualization, a Doctorate Degree in Cloud Computing and Virtualization is becoming increasingly important for those looking to pursue a career in this field.
