Learners can learn the following from this course:
1. General purpose Linux/UNIX commands: Learners will be able to use commands such as id, date, uname, ps, top, echo, man, pwd, cd, mkdir, rmdir, find, df, cat, wget, more, head, tail, cp, mv, touch, tar, zip, unzip, chmod, wc, grep, tr, hostname, ping, ifconfig, and curl.
2. Bash shell scripting: Learners will be able to create simple to intermediate shell scripts that involve metacharacters, quoting, variables, command substitution, I/O redirection, pipes & filters, and command line arguments.
3. Scheduling cron jobs: Learners will be able to use crontab to schedule cron jobs.
4. Access to a virtual Linux server: Learners will have no-charge access to a virtual Linux server that they can access through their web browser, so they don't need to download and install anything to perform the labs.
