NodeJS Basics

Course Overview

This course provides an overview of the basics of NodeJS. Participants will learn how to install NodeJS for development, use nvm, use the node REPL, understand when and when not to use Node.js, run a single Node.js file, use node modules, understand module exports in Node.js, use require with node apis, write user input to file, use npm, start a new project using npm, install and use libraries with npm, write command line script, and understand callbacks.

After completing this course, students should be able to apply their knowledge of NodeJS to create web applications, build command line scripts, and use npm to install and manage libraries. They should also be able to use the node REPL to debug their code and use the node APIs to read and write user input to files.
