River Engineering is a course that provides students with an understanding of the physical properties and equations of river flow, as well as the dynamics of rivers and river engineering. Week 4 will focus on river equilibrium, including particle stability, channel stability, regime relationships, equilibrium in river bends, downstream hydraulic geometry, bars in alluvial rivers, river meandering, and lateral river migration. Week 5 will cover river dynamics, such as river dynamics, riverbed degradation, riverbed aggradation, river confluences and branches, and river databases. Week 6 will focus on river stabilization and river training work, such as riverbank stability, riverbank riprap revetment, riverbank protection, river flow-control structures, and river training along braided rivers. Week 7 will cover river engineering, such as river flood control, river closure, canal headworks, bridge scour, and navigation waterways.
