The UX (User Experience) Capstone course provides students with the opportunity to conduct a multi-stage user experience project to design a product from scratch. Students will learn and apply Design and Research methods within the context of Iterative User-Centered Design. The course is divided into 6 "Milestones" which are expected to take approximately 20-30 hours each. Instructional team feedback will be provided to keep students on track as they complete the capstone. Students will employ interviews, inspection methods, and user testing, along with ideation, design, and prototyping methods to gain and communicate valuable insight that can be used to deliver a compelling product. Students can propose their own product, or they can choose from a list of design challenges provided by the instructional team. This course is part of the User Experience (UX) Research and Design MicroMasters Program offered by MichiganX.

After completing this UX Capstone course, students can apply their knowledge and skills to design and develop a product from scratch. They can use the research and design methods they have learned to conduct interviews, inspections, and user testing. Additionally, they can use ideation, design, and prototyping methods to gain and communicate valuable insight. Finally, they can use the feedback from the instructional team to refine their product and deliver a compelling product.
