Engineering

Engineering is a broad field of study that encompasses a variety of specialized disciplines. It involves the use of natural science, mathematics, and the scientific method to solve problems and improve efficiency and productivity. Generally, engineering is divided into four main branches: chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering. However, there are many other sub-disciplines of engineering, such as aerospace engineering, automotive engineering, bioengineering and biotechnology, computer engineering, environmental engineering, industrial engineering, materials science and engineering, nuclear engineering, petroleum engineering, and robotics and mechatronics. To pursue an undergraduate engineering degree, students typically take classes in mathematics, such as calculus, algebra, and statistics, as well as physics, chemistry, and biology.
