This course, Air Safety Investigation, provides an in-depth exploration of the challenges faced by investigators when trying to piece together the probable sequence of events. Participants will be familiarized with the investigative ways of thinking and forming of conclusions, and will learn to think and act as an air safety investigator. Through thought-provoking assignments, participants will be tested on their observation skills, fact-finding skills and analytical skills, and will gain a taste of what investigators face during an investigation. Skills such as inductive and deductive reasoning will be highlighted to explain the challenging process of air safety investigation. This professional course contains assignments, individual feedback and live online sessions.

The course will also focus on the legal framework behind air safety investigations world-wide, and the generic procedures followed when an aviation occurrence happens. Participants will have the opportunity to select assignments according to their specific professional needs, with a generalist track and an expert track available.
