Conduct UX Research and Test Early Concepts is the fourth course in a certificate program that will equip learners with the skills they need to apply to entry-level jobs in user experience (UX) design. In this course, learners will learn how to plan and conduct a usability study to gather feedback about designs, and modify their low-fidelity designs based on insights from their research. Learners will be guided by current UX designers and researchers at Google, and complete hands-on activities that simulate real-world UX design scenarios.
Possible Development Paths: Learners who complete the seven courses in this certificate program should be equipped to apply for entry-level jobs as UX designers. After completing this course, learners can continue to design a mobile app to include in their professional portfolio. They can also pursue further education in UX design, such as a master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction or a related field.
Learning Suggestions: To be successful in this course, learners should complete the previous three courses in the certificate program. Or, they need to have an ability to conduct user research to inform the creation of empathy maps, personas, user stories, user journey maps, problem statements, and value propositions; as well as an ability to create wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes on paper and in Figma. Learners can also benefit from taking courses in related subjects, such as user interface design, user experience design, and usability testing.
