This course provides an overview of the public policy perspectives and different levels of government involved in the transition to electric mobility and renewable energy systems. Through video lectures, presentations and exercises, participants will learn how to assess a policy plan to support the introduction of electric cars and make a motivated choice between alternative policy instruments. Real-world case studies from projects implemented in the Netherlands, such as the Formula-E Team, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and Car as a Power Plant project, will be used to illustrate the topics discussed. The course is co-developed with the Dutch Innovation Centre for Electric Road Transport (Dutch-INCERT) and is taught by experts from both industry and academia. Upon completion of the course, participants will have a better understanding of the roles of government in shaping the transition towards electric mobility and renewable energy systems.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to apply their knowledge to assess policy plans to support the introduction of electric cars and make a motivated choice between alternative policy instruments. They will also be able to draw on real-world case studies from projects that were implemented in the Netherlands, such as the Formula-E Team, Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and Car as a power plant project. Additionally, participants will be able to connect the different track perspectives to gain a comprehensive understanding of the roles of government in shaping the transition towards electric mobility and renewable energy systems.
