Psychological First Aid
This course provides an introduction to Psychological First Aid (PFA) and the RAPID model. Participants will learn how to provide psychological first aid to people in an emergency, and how to employ the RAPID model to assess needs, prioritize, intervene, and provide disposition. The course will also cover key concepts related to PFA, reflective listening, and how to differentiate benign from more severe crisis reactions. Participants will gain the skills to mitigate acute distress and dysfunction, recognize when to facilitate access to further mental health support, and practice self-care. ▼
