This course introduces SHINESBUNDLES, a new teaching methodology and concept to teach and learn Salsa Shines and Footwork. With this course, learners can quickly and effectively learn Salsa Shines and Footwork, enabling them to remember, recall and recreate the Shines when they hit the Salsa Social Dancing floor.

Shines and Footwork are important elements of partner dance styles, such as Salsa, Mambo, Cha Cha, Bachata and Kizomba. Shines refer to patterns, steps and footwork beyond the basic steps, while Footwork generally refers to any kind of footwork, including basic steps and Shines. Learning the basics is one thing, but Footwork and Shines are surprisingly important factors in learning partner-work and improving one's overall dance.

Dancers who spend a lot of time on Shines and Footwork have many advantages. They can have more fun with social dancing, as they have more tools in their toolkit. They can break away from their dance partner and freestyle with Shines they have learnt, and even create new ones on the fly. This allows them to express themselves in ways that many don't. They also look better due to their own personal style, fluidity of movement, body movement, styling, musical interpretation, technique, timing and speed. When social dancing, it also adds more variety to the dance, and there are sections in the music that require solo dancing.

The benefits of learning Shines and Footwork include improved timing, musicality, control, expression, foot speed, weight shifting and transfer, foot placement, styling, flavor, fluidity, posture, mastering basic steps, body position and angles, acceleration and deceleration, direction changes, sharp and smooth movements, easier movement, body movement, muscle memory, grounding and floor pressure, solo dance technique, turns, pivots and spins, balance, confidence, faster learning of routines, and finally, having fun. Most of these benefits cannot be learnt from partner-work alone, and will benefit one's dancing as a whole. With practice and repetition, learners can make these building blocks muscle memory, and their dancing will grow massively to the point where they can express themselves in a way that relates to the music.
