This course, The Role of Impact Assessments in Real Estate Development, is the first of two that comprise the Socially Responsible Real Estate Development Professional Certificate Program. It provides an introduction to the concept of socially-responsible real estate development and explores methods of evaluating the impacts that new projects are likely to have on local communities using the techniques of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and Social Impact Assessment (SIA). Participants will gain an understanding of the importance of impact assessments in the real estate development process, and will learn how to identify and assess potential environmental and social impacts of proposed projects. The course will also cover the legal and regulatory frameworks that govern impact assessments, and will provide an overview of the tools and techniques used to evaluate and mitigate potential impacts.
