The Online Soccer Academy (OSA) provides an invaluable opportunity for soccer players to stay in shape and hone their skills during the offseason. Subscribing to the OSA eNewsletter at http://www.OnlineSoccerAcademy.com gives players access to free weekly soccer training videos, youth player spotlights, motivational quotes and more.

When the season ends, it is important to take a week or two off to rest and relax. This will help to make players more motivated to train when they get started again. It is also important to set offseason goals and write them down.
The frequency of training depends on the player's goals. For those who want to become professional players, it is recommended to train 4 to 5 days a week for 1 to 2 hours a day. For youth players, 80% of training should be with the ball and 20% can be fitness.
Creating a practice plan is also important to ensure that players are not making it up as they go. OSA provides a training plan to help players stay on track.
